A Message From Our Principal
I have had the privilege and honour of seeing the decades of the 60βs, 70βs, 80βs, 90βs, and the turn of the century. I have seen the transition from apartheid into democracy and I have the seen the transition from slow mail to email and I have seen the transition of the learning through chalk and talk and now, to the use of technology in teaching. Therefore it is with some degree of accuracy, that I can predict where the future of the nature of education is heading…
Technology
Our School has been fortunate to secure sponsorship of computers, projectors and screens for each of our 28 classrooms from the South African Muslim Charitable Foundation. This includes internet access. This has really transformed the way the educators plan and deliver their lessons.
The equipment in the classroom is used mainly as a teaching tool while 24 other computers with internet access are available in our well-equipped library for the use by learners.
Language Policy
The language of learning and teaching (LOLT) is English, whilst isiZulu is the First Additional Language. Research is currently being done to offer learners a choice between IsiZulu and Afrikaans.
This is because many of our learners experience difficulty with IsiZulu at high school level.
